Exceptional Wildlife Viewing: With scarce water sources and thin vegetation, animals are easy to spot as they congregate around rivers and waterholes.
The Great Migration: This is the ideal time to witness a major event of the Great Migration. From June to October, you can see the dramatic river crossings in the northern Serengeti. During the short dry season from January to mid-March, the southern Serengeti plains burst with new life as wildebeest and zebra calves are born, attracting a high concentration of predators.
Pleasant Climate: The weather is cool and dry, with sunny days and clear skies, ideal for game drives and photography. 
Crowds: June to October is the peak season. Expect more safari vehicles and higher prices for accommodation and flights.
Lower prices: As it’s the low season, you can often find discounts on lodges and tours.
Fewer crowds: Parks are much quieter, providing a more intimate and private safari experience.
Lush scenery: The entire landscape is a stunning, vibrant green, creating beautiful photographic opportunities.
Excellent birdwatching: Migratory birds arrive during this period, making it a fantastic time for birding enthusiasts.
Rainfall: Heavy downpours, particularly during the "long rains" (late March to May), can make some roads difficult or impassable.
Lower visibility: The dense foliage can make it harder to spot animals.
Some closures: A few remote camps and lodges may close during the heaviest rainfall in the long wet season. Peak Season

We live in Australia and I honestly didn’t know who to contact about organising a trip of a lifetime and I really wanted someone that knew Africa and not someone that was from Australia and just guessed.
I found Discover Africa on TikTok and got in touch with Justin and my gosh I am so beyond happy we did!
He was amazing from day one. He answered all my questions even the ones I felt were a bit silly to ask but it was no problem at all. He was beyond fantastic! There are no words that I explain what Justin did for us and the experience he has given us that will remain with us for a lifetime.
The itinerary was incredible with some extras he booked that I wouldn’t even of thought about! He organised everything from transfers to accommodation flights to a sunset cruise that were all beyond amazing! We will never ever be able to thank you enough Justin but if you live anywhere in the world and want to have an experience of a lifetime then book with Justin from Discover Africa!!!

We originally planned this trip a few years ago, but had to cancel. Megan was able to resurrect our itinerary with a few improvements this year. The trip details they provided were very accurate and helped us in our planning (and packing). All the transfers/transportation went without a hitch. Greeters met us at each location and guided us to the appropriate next step.
All the accommodations they booked us in were top notch; better than we anticipated. In particular, they had booked us into a camp in the Okavanga delta run by the Kwando Safari company. When they Kwando company ended up closing the camp for renovations Megan made sure that Kwando upgraded our camp and we ended up at the amazing Kwara camp, their flagship location, with no additonal cost or bother for us. (That camp was amazing great wildlife, staff, food and “tents”.)
I would recommend Discover Africa and Megan to anyone planning a trip to the Southern Africa area for a safari or city visit.

All logistical elements were smooth, and the services and amenities at both lodges that Susan recommended were exceptional. Our stay at Nimali Mara was particularly special with guide, Benson, offering us not only great sightings, but amazing animal interactions – from curious lion cubs playing (some still in the den) to lions mating to a lion challenging hyenas to access a watering hole! Our big cat experiences were truly top notch.
Thank you Susan for arranging such a special and memorable vacation for us; we will surely be in touch to plan our next African adventure.
